Networking for growth

As we discussed in our major donor webinar, networking is severely underused as a way of growing organisations. Between the number of people you know and your existing contacts know, there’s an ocean of untapped potential.

Simple actions such as taking notes on conversations you’ve had with people at events and creating follow-up tasks can go a long way to make it much easier to keep up with everyone you meet and keep track of any potential leads.

It’s not just your network either - ask your most loyal supporters to help out! This could mean something like hosting mini events themselves (think coffee mornings or lunches). Especially for fundraising, this can be a fantastic way to introduce your mission to their network (personal or professional) and you can provide a speaker to further energise the event.

Don’t underestimate the power of  networking - it requires you to put the time in, but the rewards can be enormous!
