The Charity CRM Survey 2025, published by Fundraising Magazine and Charity Finance, has once again confirmed CiviCRM’s position as one of the charity sector’s most trusted and capable CRM platforms.

CiviCRM ranked #1 for cost-effectiveness and 2nd overall in user satisfaction, scoring highly for integration, flexibility, and customisation. An impressive 88% of users said they would recommend it – well above the sector average.

These results reinforce CiviCRM’s reputation as the most accessible, budget-friendly CRM for charities, particularly smaller organisations seeking to maximise their impact with limited resources. Its open architecture and active global community make it highly adaptable – whether for fundraising, membership, programme delivery, or advocacy.

CiviPlus, powered by CiviCRM, takes this further. Delivered as a fully managed SaaS platform, CiviPlus includes hosting, updates, enhanced integrations, and preconfigured best-practice tools – enabling charities to move faster, save time, and work with confidence.

As the sector starts to explore the use of AI and automation, Jamie Novick, CEO of Compuco (creators of CiviPlus), was quoted extensively in the report, sharing his optimism about AI’s role in helping charities work smarter.

“The future isn’t about replacing people, but about enabling teams to work smarter, faster, and with more confidence in the decisions they make.”

From generating campaign content to identifying the best moments to engage donors, AI is already streamlining everyday nonprofit tasks – and CiviCRM’s openness positions it to evolve quickly through community innovation and integrations.

In a challenging and fast-changing nonprofit landscape, CiviCRM continues to offer a reliable, community-led alternative to proprietary systems – giving nonprofits control of their data, the tools to evidence their impact, and the agility to adapt to whatever comes next.
